November 1st has come and gone, and I wanted to give a shout out to all of my Fagowee Peeps for your support! The CMSC Pageant was a blast, and I have all of you to thank for getting me there!
Though the judges didn’t award me the Top Queen, it did go to a FABULOUS and deserving young lady, Maria O. from Snowballers. As a snowboarding 21 year old, she not only has the charm and personality to represent, but she will appeal to a demographic that is definitely needed within CMSC. Her court consists of Rita A. from Continental and Jenny S. from Timken. Semi finalists included Nancy M. from Sandusky, and yours truly, from the BEST SKI CLUB IN THE HIZZOUS, FSC.
For those who do not know what is involved with the day, it is a really cool experience! To prepare me, our previous FSC queens put me through the ringer with a mock pageant, which was awesome! They really helped me understand what to expect, and any of the terms (yes, TERMS! We did have to study!) that I didn’t quite understand…which. Um. Was a lot. (Hey! I put two sticks…or one…on my feet and go down the hill, avoiding people, ya know??) Once a queen, always a queen, and their dedication shows…*hugs* ladies!
The CMSC queen committee made sure to take care of all of us too! From constant communication, to a wine and cheese mixer, to providing us with a friendly and stress releasing environment at Reineckers while we waited for our interrogation…their commitment and time did not go unnoticed! There is so much that goes into the preparation for the big event, and the ladies on the committee deserve many thanks…so for those who attended, be sure to let them know how much you appreciate their hard work. I sure did!
The INTERROGATION! Ok. it really wasn’t that bad. Haha…the judges were wonderful, and to be honest, they had to ring the bell AND stand up to get me to SHUT UP in the private interview. *grin* Who would have thought that? A thank you to them as well, for their time and involvement, and having to make such a hard choice between 8 fabulous ladies!
For the ladies in the Fagowees, if you have never been queen, it is definitely something to accept, should you be nominated. The relationships that you establish not only with the FSC queens, and queen committee, but others in CMSC as a whole…they are amazing! I would have never met some of the people I have met through this process if it weren’t for my club finding the faith and pride in me to represent Fagowees to the masses. And for that, I am honored. And I thank each and every one of you.
Welp, I may not be the CMSC Diva, but I am still Queen of the Fagowee Universe TM for another 6 months. I hope that I can fulfill my duties and make you all proud throughout that time. It’s because of all of you, that I have been given this opportunity. And for that, I am thankful. (and I am also thankful for that FAB cake and killer gifts! Dudes! A SKULL BEER MUG? That. Is. AWESOME! Completely unexpected…I was actually at a LOSS FOR WORDS! Can you believe it? You ALL rock!)
Now, stop reading my babble, and GO DRINK A BEER! Chrismas Crack Ale is on tap, doncha know??? *grin*
